Unlike Tanzania’s famous and by far most popular northern region, the eastern safari circuit is home to the smallest and least known wildlife sanctuaries in the country, making it a great destination for travellers in search of a more exclusive experience. Far from the large crowds that populate the northern circuit, the east also offers great game viewing in the dry season as well as amazing landscapes all year round.
Another benefit of the eastern circuit is that it offers travellers a unique opportunity to see Tanzania’s coastline while on a game drive when visiting Saadani National Park – the only national park where the bush meets the beach – offering visitors some remarkable and rare photo opportunities. Other activities in the area include birdwatching safaris, boat trips to the mangrove swamps and snorkelling around the sandbanks.
The eastern circuit includes Mkomazi and Saadani National Parks, and our tours in this region usually include a trip to the Usambara Mountains and to the seaside town of Pangani.
